In honor of World Teachers’ Day, Lananpin Elementary School (LES) received a second two-storey, six-classroom building donation from Security Bank Foundation, Inc. (SBFI) last September 30, 2019. The turnover brought the total number of classrooms donated to LES to twelve (12), and to Urdaneta City to eighteen (18), including the six (6) classrooms donated to Nancayasan Elementary School in 2016.
“We would like to express our gratefulness. In fact, I feel emotional today because September 5 to October 5 is World Teachers’ Month. Your timely donation is a very good gift to teachers, the educators, and to our students. We know that the Security Bank Foundation’s vision is to cover all the schools in the Philippines and the Foundation is working hard to make it a reality,” conveyed by Dr. Fatima Boado, Schools Division Superintendent of the Department of Education Division of Urdaneta City.
“I cannot imagine how excited the student and teachers of Lananpin Elementary School (are) for the second school building donated by Security Bank Foundation. In August 2016, we turned over the first Security Bank Foundation two-storey, six-classroom school building. Nagkwento ako sa mga bata kung kailan sila makakapagsimula makapag-aral sa magandang gusali na ito. They are Grade 2 before and now Grade 4 na sila. Sila na mismo ang makakagamit ng karagdagang silid na ito. Kami po ay lubos na nagpapasalamat sa Security Bank Foundation sa inyong kabutihang loob sa isa pang bagong gusali na inyong pinagkaloob sa aming paaralan,” described by Joseph Tabelin, principal of LES.
Security Bank Foundation, under its Build a School, Build a Nation: The Classrooms Project, has been donating classrooms for Philippine public schools since 2011 as a way of advancing quality education. SBFI believes that promising conducive learning environments motivate the students, which then becomes an avenue for teachers to achieve maximum learning delivery.
The local government of Urdaneta City also thanked Security Bank Foundation for extending its education advocacy to their locality. “Different barangays of Urdaneta City will now have improved access to quality education as we open new classrooms here in Lananpin Elementary School. Generous donors such as Security Bank Foundation are the backbone of the school and this support will have great impact to nation- building and will bring services closer to our people,” said by Engr. Randy Parayno, Urdaneta City administrator.
Security Bank Foundation is committed to continue reaching more areas in the Philippines as it provides better learning environments to Filipino students. “It is absolutely necessary to invest in teachers, students, and the school as a whole. The progress of our nation is in their hands, and it is up to us to support them by giving them the tools they need,” highlighted Rafael F. Simpao, Jr., chairman of Security Bank Foundation.
Since 2011, SBFI has turned over 471 classrooms in 90 schools across 49 cities and municipalities nationwide. 74 classrooms in Central and Northern Luzon are nearing completion which will bring the total classrooms donation of Security Bank Foundation to 545 by yearend.
