Committed to undertake four school painting activities for 2024, Security Bank Foundation, Inc. (SBFI) implemented its final school painting run for the year at Sta. Ines Integrated School, Mabalacat City, Pampanga with 90 Security Bank employee volunteers from the Makati Head Office and Clark-Medical City Branch.
Despite a rainy weather forecast that could have disrupted the activity, sunny skies prevailed giving Security Bank employees the conducive environment to paint the walls of the two-story, eight-classroom school building to be turned over by SBFI to the school by the end of 2024. This employee volunteerism activity is part of the Foundation’s broader “Build a School Build a Nation” program which aims to enhance the quality of basic education in the country through better classrooms as well as better school principal leadership and teaching expertise for beneficiary schools.
“Our continuous conduct of School Painting activities was inspired by various positive feedback that we got from our past Security Bank officers and employee volunteers,” said SBFI Chairman Rafael Simpao, Jr. “Because of your dedication to make Security Bank a profitable organization, Security Bank Foundation is able to fund its programs which then benefit our public schools and their students,” he added.
After the painting activity, volunteers also engaged in fun group activities, social media gimmicks and electronic raffle. Special awards were also given to the best painting group, most passionate painters and most dedicated volunteer.
“I have been joining the painting activities of SBFI because this is my way of giving back to the community. It might look simple but with our collective effort, we actually help shape the future of our future leaders. Believing in the Foundation’s sincere advocacy on education inspired me to participate in this endeavor again and again. I look forward to being part of more meaningful volunteering activities in the future,” expressed Karen Pasco, Head of Security Bank Employee Relations, Wellness and Experience and the awarded most dedicated painting volunteer.
This activity brought SBFI’s total number of school painting employee volunteers to 320 for the year 2024 – the highest number of recorded participants by the Foundation in one year since program inception. Volunteers involved were Security Bank employees from Metro Manila, Cavite, Pampanga, Misamis Oriental, Zamboanga del Norte, and Zamboanga Del Sur.
