In celebration of its 74th anniversary, Security Bank Corporation highlighted the spirit of giving back through a series of engaging activities that brought together Security Bank employees and their families to support a meaningful cause. Over a thousand employees participated in initiatives aimed at raising funds for Security Bank Foundation, Inc. (SBFI)’s school building donation program for public schools.
One of the key events was SBC Arena: Play for a Cause, held from June 7 to 27, which featured engaging games such as Trivia, Name That Tune, and a Mobile Legends tournament that promoted employee involvement. Another fundraising event was the SBC Marketplace, where employees, their families, and partner vendors sold various goods and services. A one-time registration fee was collected from players and sellers, with proceeds dedicated to building new classrooms for public schools.
The month-long celebration also included online learning sessions for employees and their families, the Little Security Bankers’ League—a special program that gave children a fun and interactive introduction to Better Banking—and a daily trivia challenge about Security Bank’s history and milestones.
Fundraising efforts for classroom construction will continue until December 2025, with SBFI reporting over P1.4 million in donations from Security Bank employees as of June, which can already fund roofing sheets for 30 classrooms. To further strengthen stakeholder engagement, the Foundation launched the “Bayanihan para sa Silid-Aralan” calling on the Bank’s relationship managers to invite Bank’s clients to be partners in building classrooms. SBFI believes that building a better country and helping future leaders grow is something everyone should be involved with.
“Let us remember that when teachers, parents, and communities come together, we can overcome even the most daunting challenges,” SBFI Chairman Rafael F. Simpao, Jr. expressed. “Together, let us remain steadfast in our mission to elevate the quality of education of our Filipino youth, even if we have to do it one child at a time,” he added.
