The memorandum of agreement signing was led by SBFI Chairman Rafael Simpao, Jr., Security Bank Corporation Branch Banking Group Head Leslie Cham, SBFI Trustee Melissa Aquino, JVRF Executive Director Kana Manglapus, and Fr. Marlon Fabros, SJ, President of PCHS.
Makati City – Security Bank Foundation, Inc. (SBFI) and Jesus V. Del Rosario Foundation, Inc. (JVRF) signed another partnership on February 3, 2026, to build a two-storey, six-classroom school building at Pangantucan Community High School (PCHS) in Bukidnon. The project will benefit over 1,000 students and ease the school’s classroom shortage. This latest initiative follows SBFI’s 2024 donation of a similar building, bringing the total classrooms donated to PCHS to 12.
Under the agreement, JVRF will sponsor one classroom, PCHS will fund two, while SBFI will shoulder the remaining three through its Build a School, Build a Nation Program. The collaboration builds on a partnership that began in 2025, when both foundations donated a two-storey, 10-classroom building to Tarlac National High School.
“Education is the greatest equalizer in life. It begins with having a place to learn,” said Rafael Simpao, Jr., Chairman of Security Bank Foundation. “This partnership reflects our shared commitment to building classrooms that open doors to a better future.”
This second building donation was made possible through the efforts of Marissa Del Rosario-Blackett, a diplomat and humanitarian leader whose advocacy is to support underserved communities.
“We are grateful to continue our partnership with Security Bank Foundation in building new classrooms for Pangantucan High School, easing the shortage faced by its learners. Alongside this, JVR Foundation supports 15 scholars—mostly children of farmers—through its horticulture and agriculture program,” JVRF Executive Director Kana Manglapus shared.
As classrooms rise, so do the hopes of students, teachers, and families who see education as a pathway to a better future. Through sustained partnerships, SBFI continues to help address the country’s critical classroom shortage.
Echoing this vision, Fr. Marlon Fabros, SJ, President of PCHS, expressed: “This next phase with SBFI and JVRF strengthens our shared commitment to safe, dignified learning spaces for farming and Indigenous communities. By building classrooms, we honor their dreams and affirm they are seen, valued, and deserving of quality education.”
