Security Bank Foundation Inc (SBFI), the corporate social responsibility (CSR) arm of Security Bank focused on education, has raised funds for the Bank’s agency personnel scholarship program, the “Regalo Mo, Kinabukasan Ko” (RMKK) for school year 2022-2023.
RMKK is SBFI’s scholarship program for Security Bank agency personnel and their children aspiring to finish their studies. Agency personnel include guards, messengers, janitors, and other Bank support staff. Since 2011, SBFI has engaged Security Bankers to support scholars through various fundraising activities where proceeds help fund the tuition and allowance of agency personnel. With the COVID-19 pandemic, SBFI maximized the use of online platforms to conduct these fundraising activities.
“SBFI’s advocacy has always been about providing quality education to deserving individuals. Through education, we develop future leaders and changemakers, some of whom are already part of the Security Bank family. I am thankful that we have the strength and will to achieve our business goals alongside helping those in need,” says Melissa Aquino, SBFI’s trustee and corporate secretary.
For 2022, the RMKK fundraising program raised over 40% of the total scholarship cost for the school year 2022-2023 and generated close to 4,000 volunteer hours from over 2,000 Security Bankers who participated in the various fund-raising activities.
SBFI’s fundraising activities include the Online Shop for a Cause, Virtual Reality Games, Online Concert, and Learn for a Cause, where a peso is donated for every hour spent by employees on LinkedIn Learning courses.
One of the fundraisers conducted by the Security Bank Foundation was the Perfect Harmony Online Concert last December
Since 2010, RMKK has helped 337 scholars nationwide; 48 scholars have graduated from college and five are employed with the Bank. For academic year 2022-2023, the scholarship program is supporting 116 scholars—26 elementary, 34 junior high, 22 senior high, and 34 college students.
