In partnership with the Laguna Lake Development Authority and the Municipal Government of Pililla, Rizal, Security Bank Foundation and SBC-HRDD organized the Security Bank Greening Outreach Project.
Fifty-eight Security Bank employees participated in the first tree-planting activity held last July 6, 2013 in Brgy. Hulo, Pililla, Rizal. The employee volunteers planted 750 seedlings of Narra, Atis and Guava to help create a mini-forest that will secure the recently repaired watershed of the community that was destroyed by Typhoon Ondoy in 2011.
SBFI Chairman Rafael F. Simpao, Jr. and Municipal Mayor Hon. Alejandro Masikip, Sr. led the ceremonial planting of a Narra seedling to start the tree-planting activity of Security Bank employees.
Members of the Municipal Fire Brigade, Police, Health Unit and local community farmers also participate to provide assistance to the Bank employees during the tree-planting activity.
The tree-planting activity in Pililla, Rizal is just one of the many tree-planting activities that the Foundation will organize in keeping with its commitment to help contribute to the National Greening Program of the country. The activity also shows that it is possible for a company, a foundation and a local government to work together to help protect and preserve the environment.
