Security Bank Foundation, Inc. (SBFI) sustained its college scholarship program with the University of Santo Tomas (UST). The Foundation will provide scholarship slots for eight college students for a period of four (4) years. The continuity of the scholarship program partnership was sealed through a Memorandum of Agreement signing held on November 18, 2019 at Security Bank’s Head Office in Makati City.
Last year, SBFI’s three (3) college scholars in UST obtained their degrees in Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Business Economics, Financial Management and Marketing Management. Two of them graduated Cum Laude.
For the School Year 2019-2020, Security Bank Foundation approved the scholarships of two Thomasian freshmen college scholars taking up degrees in Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Financial Management and Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering. SBFI will maintain supporting two Thomasian freshmen college scholars every school year until the eight college scholarship slots for UST have been filled.
Through the Scholars for Better Communities Scholarship Program, Security Bank Foundation provides educational assistance to deserving college students taking up courses directly supporting bank operations such as Accountancy, Business, Industrial Engineering, Management, Finance, Information Technology, Computer Studies, Mathematics, Statistics, Communications and Social Sciences. Aside from financial assistance, Security Bank Foundation also extends developmental activities to its scholars by means of internship, involvement in corporate social responsibility activities, and learning sessions provided by partner institutions.

By giving them the gift of education, we hope that they will build a better future for themselves, their families and their communities,” Mr. Rafael F. Simpao, Jr., Chairman of Security Bank Foundation, said. “We also invite our scholars to consider building their career in Security Bank and help us deliver BetterBanking in the country,” added Simpao.

For the School Year 2019-2020, Security Bank Foundation has provided educational assistance to 403 scholars nationwide, which is a 24% increase from the total number of beneficiaries from the last school year.
For the School Year 2020-2021, SBFI will admit incoming college freshmen scholars enrolled in its eight (8) partners schools namely, Ateneo de Manila University, Chiang Kai Shek College, De La Salle University Manila, Far Eastern University Manila, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, Polytechnic University of the Philippines Manila, University of the Philippines Diliman and University of Santo Tomas.
