Security Bank Foundation, in partnership with Ateneo Center for Educational Development (ACED), conducted a 1-day live-in Teacher Renewal and Values Formation Session and a 3-day live-in Teacher Trainors’ Training in Elementary English for Grades 1-3 and for Grades 4-6 for identified teachers of the Foundation’s public elementary school beneficiaries in the Bicol and Visayas region last April 14-17, 2015 at Betania Retreat House in Nivel Hills, Lahug, Cebu City.
One hundred (100) teachers from the seven (7) public school beneficiaries of the Foundation’s Classrooms Project in Mindanao region also participated in the Teacher Renewal and Values Formation Session and Teacher Trainors’ Training in Elementary English and Mathematics for Grades 1-3 and for Grades 4-6 last April 21-24, 2015 at Ateneo de Davao University in Matina, Davao City.
The Teacher Renewal and Values Formation Session was conducted on the first day of the training period while the Teacher Trainors’ Training for Elementary English and Mathematics for Grades 1-3 and Grades 4-6, on the other hand, were conducted simultaneously in three (3) days, but in separate training sessions and venues.
Since 2014, two hundred (200) public school teachers have received trainings in teaching skills in partnership with Ateneo de Manila University. Trainings for public school teachers in junior and senior high school levels will be organized and implemented in Year 2016.
By enhancing the teachers’ teaching capability through extensive trainings, Security Bank Foundation hopes to help make teaching of different subjects such as Mathematics and English more easy and fun for elementary and high school students in public schools.
