Security Bank Foundation receives CSR Excellence Award at the 17th Philippine Quill

Security Bank Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of Security Bank Corporation, received an Award of Excellence under the Communication Management: Corporate Social Responsibility category of the 17th Philippine Quill Awards for its flagship education program, the Build a School, Build a Nation: The Classrooms Project. This award comes after receiving Award of Merit citations for the past three consecutive years.

The Award of Excellence is granted to programs that communicate social responsibility and encourage positive actions while building awareness and reputation.

The Build a School, Build a Nation: The Classrooms Project is a multi-sectoral initiative involving the Department of Education, the local government units, academic partners (Ateneo and De La Salle), Security Bank employees and clients to address classrooms shortage and improve the quality of basic education in the country through the building of classrooms, training of teachers and developing leadership skills of school heads. It also includes activities where employees volunteer their time in support of Security Bank Foundation’s beneficiaries.

Since 2011, the Foundation has already turned over 469 classrooms to 91 schools located in 49 cities and municipalities and provided conducive learning facilities to 98,000 Filipino students. The Foundation has also trained 1,387 teachers and 94 school heads as part of the program.

The Philippine Quill Awards, organized by the International Association of Business Communicators Philippines, is the country’s most prestigious awards program in the field of business communication. It has been bestowing the seal of approval to the most reputable organizations and corporations in the nation for almost two decades, emphasizing the use of excellent communication to achieve business goals, and to make a difference in society.
