Security Bank Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of Security Bank Corporation, bagged the Best CSR Initiative Award in the Global Retail Banking Innovation Awards for its flagship education program, the Build a School, Build a Nation: The Classrooms Project.
The Build a School, Build a Nation: The Classrooms Project is a multi-sectoral initiative to address classrooms shortage and improve the quality of basic education in the Philippines through construction of classrooms, teachers’ training and development program of school heads. The program also includes activities such as school painting where Security Bank employees volunteer their time to support the project’s beneficiary schools.
Since 2011, Security Bank Foundation has already turned over 471 classrooms to 90 schools located in 49 cities and municipalities and provided conducive learning facilities to 98,000 Filipino students. The Foundation has also trained 1,387 teachers and 94 school heads as part of the program.
The Global Retail Banking Innovation Awards, organized by The Digital Banker, celebrate the world’s most cutting-edge retail banks that transform the industry in the areas of service delivery, digital innovation, product development, payments, technology, customer experience, and care for people and employees among others.
