MANILA, PHILIPPINES, AUGUST 2025 – FWD Life Insurance (FWD Philippines), in partnership with Security Bank Foundation, Inc. (SBFI), has launched the FWD-Security Bank Future Leaders College Scholarship Program, where FWD will annually provide tuition and stipend support to deserving children of Security Bank agency personnel covering academic year 2024-2025 until 2027-2028.
According to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) 2020 Census of Population and Housing, socio-economic factors prevent some 10.7 million or a quarter of Filipinos aged five to twenty-four years old from getting higher education.
“We at FWD are excited to launch this partnership to help provide better opportunities for more young Filipinos to achieve their dreams. As the insurer of the next generation, we believe that by touching more lives through education and financial literacy, we can empower aspiring leaders to build their best futures,” said FWD Philippines President and CEO, Soon Liang Lau.
SBFI Chairman, Rafael F. Simpao, Jr. shared, “We believe that with proper education, one should be able to succeed in life no matter what social or economic background they may have. Security Bank Foundation is incredibly grateful for the generous support of FWD towards our communities and investing to create future leaders.”
SBFI is the corporate social responsibility arm of Security Bank. It is heavily invested on education programs including scholarships for high potential but underprivileged students.
Sharing a commitment to nation-building and inspiring the next generation to create positive impact in their communities, this partnership also commemorates the tenth anniversary collaboration between FWD Philippines and Security Bank.
Security Bank President and CEO, Sanjiv Vohra, highlighted how the program aligns with the Bank’s mission to enrich lives, empower businesses, and build communities sustainably. “We’re proud of Security Bank Foundation for continuing to champion education and grateful to FWD for their generous support. Together, we’re investing in the next generation, equipping them to shape a more inclusive and prosperous tomorrow.”
