For Jenica Cabacaba, success began with a simple dream, to give her family a better life. As the daughter of a security guard who has faithfully served Security Bank for 32 years at its Main Office in Makati, Jenica grew up witnessing her father’s hard work and dedication.
That same dedication fueled her to pursue education with passion and purpose. Jenica became a scholar of Security Bank Foundation’s Regalo Mo, Kinabukasan Ko (RMKK) program, a scholarship initiative for the children of agency personnel. The program is made possible through the generosity of Security Bank employees who contribute to help scholars like her finish their studies.
“I was very fortunate to be part of the RMKK scholarship from high school until college. It really motivated me to study harder because I knew that so many people believed in me,” Jenica shared.
In 2015, she graduated cum laude with a degree in Business Administration major in Marketing Management from Arellano University. “My father was so happy and proud. I didn’t just finish college, I finished with honors. I’m truly grateful to Security Bank for the financial assistance and for believing in my potential,” she said.
Shortly after graduation, Jenica began her professional journey at Security Bank as a rank-and-file employee. Seven years later, her perseverance and drive earned her a promotion to Junior Officer in the Corporate Card Department.
Her success extended beyond the workplace. Through disciplined saving and financial literacy she learned at the Bank, Jenica was able to buy her family their own home through a PAG-IBIG loan in 2017. “Dahil sa magandang oportunidad na ibinigay ng Banko, nakapag-ipon ako at nakakuha ng sarili kong bahay kung saan kasalukuyang naninirahan si Papa,” she shared with joy.
Jenica’s story is a testament to how opportunities can transform lives, not just of scholars, but of entire families.
