3D Secure One-Time Password (OTP)

You will need to input your OTP when making online transactions.

What is an OTP?

OTP or one-time password is a unique 6-digit password sent to your registered mobile number when making online transactions using your Security Bank Debit* or Credit Card. It cannot be re-used and it expires after 3 minutes upon receipt.

Think of it as an added layer of security for your transactions.

Please make sure to update your contact info to receive your OTP.

How does it work?

The 3D Secure OTP will be sent to only one mobile number registered in our system. This also applies to supplementary cardholders. Take note of the following:

  • If you don’t receive your OTP, then you may need to update your contact information with us. You can do that here.
  • You are only given only 3 attempts to enter the correct OTP. After the third attempt you will be asked to re-enter your card details.
  • Do not share your OTP with anyone.

How to Get Your 3D Secure OTP

Make sure that your contact information with us is updated.

You will receive your OTP via SMS when authorizing a transaction.

If you don’t receive an OTP, you can click the “generate again” button.

If you don’t input your OTP within 3 minutes, you will need to request for another one.

It will take one banking day for requests made through the customer service hotline and seven banking days for requests made online.

Can I still make online transactions if my mobile number is not updated?

Yes, you can still make online purchases even if your mobile number is not updated in our records as long as the website does not require a 3DS OTP. For security reasons, we highly encourage you to update your mobile number.

What should I do if I did not receive a 3DS OTP even if my mobile number is updated?

If you do not receive your 3DS OTP in a few seconds, you can click the regenerate button on the 3DS OTP screen.

Will I receive my 3DS OTP even if I’m out of the country?

Yes, you will still receive your 3DS OTP as long as roaming is enabled on your mobile.

Will I still receive my 3DS OTP even if I registered an international number?

No, you can only receive your 3DS OTP if you registered a local mobile number.

What websites require 3DS OTP?

Websites with the logo of MasterCard SecureCode will require 3DS OTP to make transactions.

Are there websites that do not require 3DS OTP?

Yes, there are some websites that will not require you to enter a 3DS OTP to transact.

Will I be charged for 3DS OTP?

No, the 3DS OTP is free of charge.

How long will the 3Ds OTP be valid for?

3Ds OTP is valid for only three minutes. Subsequently, you will need to request to resend another 3DS OTP.

What happens if I input the incorrect 3DS OTP?

For security reasons, you are given only 3 attempts to enter the correct 3DS OTP. If you still enter the incorrect 3DS OTP after the third attempt, you will be redirected back to the website and will be asked to enter your card details again.

What should I do if I received a 3DS OTP even if I’m not shopping online?

If you receive a 3DS OTP even if you’re not shopping online, please call the hotline at 88-791-88 immediately.
