In these terms and conditions governing the 0% Balance Transfer Offer Facility (“Terms and Conditions), the term “Security Bank Card” means all credit cards issued by SB Cards and Security Bank (“Security Bank”). The term “Cardholder” means any person at whose request Security Bank Card has been issued by the Bank. General:
- 0% Balance Transfer is open only to new-to-bank Security Bank cardholders who applied for a Security Bank credit card ONLINE via securitybank.com.
- New-to-bank cardholders are defined as those who became Security Bank credit cardholders only after January 19, 2016. However, those who became Security Bank credit cardholders after January 19, 2016 who applied for and/or were issued and/or were approved for another Security Bank credit card shall no longer be deemed as new-to-bank cardholders.
- The following are not qualified for 0% Balance Transfer
- Those who were issued and/or were approved for a Security Bank Complete Cashback card;
- Those who were issued and/or were approved for a Security Bank Click Card;
- Those who were issued and/or were approved for a Security Bank credit card via the member-get-member referral program or employee-get-member referral program.
- 0% Balance Transfer is a facility whereby selected principal Cardholders can apply to transfer their outstanding credit card balances with other banks or credit card companies to their newly-approved Security Bank MasterCard credit card.
- The 0% Balance Transfer Offer is valid for 60 days from date of approval of the qualified card.
- The Balance Transfer application will be subject to verification and credit approval by Security Bank.
- Where the Bank approves an application for Balance Transfer under the 0% Balance Transfer Offer facility, the total balance transfer amount shall be subject to these terms and conditions and all applicable terms and conditions under the Terms and Conditions Governing the Issuance and Use of Security Bank MasterCard Credit Card and all related provisions of the Security Bank In-house Installment Plan.
Eligibility Requirements:
- The cardholder must be a principal Security Bank cardholder and must be in good credit standing with Security Bank and other banks and credit card companies.
- The other credit card must be issued in the name of the principal cardholder
- Total amount to be transferred is subject to a minimum of P10,000 (Pesos: Ten Thousand) and a maximum of P30,000 (Pesos: Thirty Thousand) but not to exceed 50% of the cardholder’s credit limit.
- The cardholder shall be required to provide the following:
- Name of the other credit card company/bank;
- Credit card number of the other credit card company/bank;
- Total Balance Transfer Amount;
- Term;
- The approved total balance transfer amount must not exceed the:
- Cardholder’s Security Bank’s available credit limit; and
- Total Amount Due from the cardholder’s other card company credit card/s.
Other conditions:
- Security Bank has the absolute right and discretion to transfer a balance less than the total balance transfer amount applied for by the cardholder.
- Security Bank shall have the absolute and exclusive right and discretion to approve or reject all balance transfer applications.
- Should the cardholder’s available credit limit not be sufficient to cover the balance transfer amount applied for the chosen repayment period, Security Bank shall, at its sole discretion, determine and approve only a portion of the balance transfer amount applied for, without need to inform the cardholder beforehand.
- The cardholder shall be responsible in following up the status of his/her balance transfer application. In case of rejection of a balance transfer application, Security Bank is not required to notify the cardholder of such rejection and the reason therefor.
- Security Bank shall not be liable for any delinquency interest or any penalty charges imposed upon the cardholder on the cardholder’s other bank’s cards should Security Bank reject the cardholder’s balance transfer application.,
- Once a balance transfer application is approved, Security Bank, on behalf of the cardholder, shall credit or pay, the other bank credit card the amount of the approved balance transfer amount. Security Bank shall not be liable for interest, or any over-payment of the credit card, nor for any late payment or other charges that the cardholder may incur as a result of failure or delay by Security Bank in making the payment before the due date of the cardholder’s other credit card.
- While Security Bank is processing the application for balance transfer, the cardholder must continue to pay the minimum amount due required by the other credit card company/ies to avoid past due status.
- Once the balance transfer is approved, any monthly amortizations shall be posted on the cardholder’s monthly statement of account. These shall form part of the total outstanding balance due in the cardholder’s statement of account. If the Cardholder revolves any portion of the total outstanding balance due in any given month, the account shall be subject to the computation of Finance Charges and Late Payment Charges (if applicable) for that month.
- Once approved, the balance transfer transaction can no longer be reversed. In case of pre-termination or cancellation of the approved balance transfer transaction before the end of the chosen repayment period, Security Bank reserves the right to charge the Cardholder’s account Five Hundred Pesos (Php500.00) as processing fee for the pre-termination of the balance transfer transaction.
- In case a cardholder ceases to be of good credit standing through (i) suspension, (ii) cancellation, or (iii) non-renewal of Security Bank credit card due to non-payment or breach of these terms & conditions, the Terms and Conditions Governing the Issuance and Use of Security Bank MasterCard Credit Card (“Cards T&C”) and all related provisions of the Security Bank In-house Installment Plan shall apply. Consequently, all of the unpaid installment terms as well as other account balances shall immediately become due & demandable.
