Security Bank Corporation (PSE:SECB) has been selected to participate in the Early Access Program (EAP) for Microsoft 365 Copilot—the global tech behemoth’s new Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) tool launched on September 26, 2023. Security Bank is one of only two Philippine-based organizations invited to join the program that was rolled out to an initial wave of 600 leading customers worldwide. This demonstrates the Bank’s innovation and forward-thinking approach in the market.
Security Bank’s early adoption of Microsoft 365 Copilot is another step in its digital transformation journey, building on investments to elevate its banking services for retail, corporate, commercial, and MSME clients.
“We are very excited to be one of the first banks in the Philippines to adopt Microsoft 365 Copilot, which will enable us to harness the power of Generative AI to engage more effectively with our customers, employees, and stakeholders, as well as generate insights and recommendations that drive better business decisions. By using Copilot, we are not only enhancing our productivity and creativity, but also empowering our people to focus on higher-value tasks that deliver greater customer satisfaction and loyalty,” said Sanjiv Vohra, President and CEO of Security Bank.
Microsoft 365 Copilot is an AI-powered productivity tool that combines the power of Large Language Models (LLMs) with an organization’s data to enhance productivity, search, coding, and more. It works alongside popular Microsoft 365 apps such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams to provide real-time intelligent assistance, enabling users to enhance their creativity and productivity.
Microsoft’s EAP is a limited, invitation-only release for select companies globally. Security Bank is rolling out Copilot with 300 users leveraging tools including Microsoft 365, Azure Virtual Desktop, Power Platform, and more.
“In support of our vision to become the most customer-centric bank in the Philippines, we collaborate with leading technology partners such as Microsoft to bring the power of AI to the everyday work experience” said EVP and Enterprise Technology & Operations (ETO) Segment Head, Lucose Eralil. “With increased productivity, enhanced collaboration, improved creativity and streamlined workflow processes, Copilot and GenAI, will enable us to create differentiation in our products and services, including hyper-personalization, instant services, and sustainable banking.”
Security Bank’s aggressive digital transformation journey began in 2020 with a keen focus on customer-centricity. The Bank started modernizing its operations, collaborating with strategic partners, strengthening its foundation, bringing in talented leaders, adopting agile methodologies, and enabling its people—to provide superior, BetterBanking customer experiences, improve operational efficiencies, and grow revenue. The Bank has also made significant investments in cybersecurity to ensure the safety and privacy of its customers’ data.
Security Bank is looking to Microsoft to help further enable and accelerate its digital transformation. The Bank has been extensively using Copilot across sales, marketing, recruitment, and other key business units to improve productivity, helping teams learn new skills and perform tasks faster and more efficiently. And by incorporating Generative AI across the board, the Bank plans to leverage the potential of other Microsoft Copilot offerings, namely GitHub Copilot and Copilot in Power platform.
Looking ahead, Security Bank plans to integrate more advanced technology into its stack including blockchain for secure transactions and cloud infrastructure for scalability and resilience. The Bank is also eyeing the development of a robust digital ecosystem that not only offers traditional banking services but also incorporates fintech solutions, ensuring a one-stop digital banking experience for its customers.
