True to its BetterBanking promise, Security Bank introduces the Smart Saver Kiddie Camp.  Aimed at enhancing kids’ knowledge on money management, the camp transforms its young participants into smart savers and smart spenders.

The Smart Saver Kiddie Camp is a three-hour program that integrates financial education with fun and interactive workshops specifically designed for kids 7 years old and above. The two-part camp begins with a short talk conducted by renowned financial experts, who are parents to young kids themselves. In the lecture, basic financial management concepts will be discussed and simplified for kids to appreciate and understand better. Kids will also be taught different ways to save money.

During the second half of the kiddie camp, concepts learned will be applied. The young participants will be asked to design their own coin jars, learn the basics of Singaporean Math or do a simulation of a shopping scenario wherein they can plan how to manage a given budget. It is during this time that they will be asked to prepare a savings plan that they will follow and apply after the session.

Perhaps the best part of the camp is the bank visit which will allow kids to tour a Security Bank Branch, open their own Jr. One accounts and queue to make their first deposit.  This experience aims to make the kids familiar and comfortable when doing bank transactions as they grow.   The Jr. One account is Security Bank’s savings product for kids 18 years old and below.  It offers interest rate higher than a regular savings account with an opening and maintaining balance of only P100.

Designed to help sustain the knowledge gained during the camp, parents are enjoined to participate in the workshop to help follow through and continue their kid’s transformation to smart savers and smart spenders.
