Security Bank Foundation, Inc. (SBFI) revamped its college scholarship program coverage with Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) by increasing the number of scholars to 12 per year and the scholars’ individual annual stipend from Php 30,000 to Php 100,000. The enhancement of the scholarship program was sealed through a Memorandum of Agreement signing held at the Security Bank Centre in Makati City.
Through the Scholars for Better Communities (SBC) Program, Security Bank Foundation provides educational assistance to deserving college students enrolled in courses directly supporting banking operations. Aside from providing financial assistance, the Foundation also extends developmental activities to its scholars through opportunities for internship, involvement in various corporate social responsibility initiatives, and complimentary learning sessions from partner institutions.
“The SBC Scholarship Program aims to develop eligible students to become productive citizens of the country. By giving them the gift of learning, we hope that they will build a better future for themselves, their families, and their communities. We also invite our scholars to build their career at Security Bank and help us deliver our BetterBanking promise to our valued clients,”  said Rafael F. Simpao, Jr., chairman of Security Bank Foundation.

For the Academic Year 2019-2020, SBFI has provided educational assistance to 403 scholars nationwide, a significant 24% increase from the total number of beneficiaries from the previous year.
Security Bank Foundation will continue to invite incoming college freshmen to be scholars in any of its eight (8) partners schools namely, Ateneo de Manila University, Chiang Kai Shek College, De La Salle University, Far Eastern University, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, University of the Philippines Diliman and University of Santo Tomas. Interested applicants may apply through https://www.securitybank.com/sustainability/education/.
