In honor of the Sesquicentennial Celebration of Ateneo de Manila University, Security Bank Foundation donated a P1 Million Professorial Chair for the School of Management Engineering; full Scholarship Grants to two (2) students in either Management or Computer Science courses; and three (3) Student Excellence Awards of P50,000 each, for the top graduating students in Management Engineering, in BS Applied Math Major in Mathematical Finance, and in BS in Management Information System.
Ateneo President Rev. Fr. Bienvenido Nebres, S.J. and Security Bank Foundation Chairman Mr. Rafael F. Simpao, Jr. led the signing of the agreement and turnover of donation last November 25, 2009 at the Xavier Hall of Ateneo de Manila University in Katipunan Avenue, Quezon City. Also present during the event were the members of the administration, faculty and staff of Ateneo de Manila University and bank representatives, including the Ateneo Alumni from among the senior officers of Security Bank.
The grants given to Ateneo are a reaffirmation of Security Bank”s commitment to give back to the institutions that play crucial roles in helping the nation attain progress and development. It also symbolizes the commitment of Security Bank to partner with the Ateneo Community to help bring a better tomorrow for Filipinos, through excellent and quality education.
