Security Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm Security Bank Foundation Inc. (SBFI) gathered Security Bank employees and SBFI scholars for four consecutive Fridays in August as it held a month-long online fundraising event for its flagship scholarship project, Regalo Mo, Kinabukasan Ko (RMKK): A scholarship program for agency personnel and their children.
Security Bank employees and RMKK scholars raised funds through participation fees to ensure the continuity of the foundation’s scholarship program, which funds the education of the Bank’s agency personnel and their kids.
“I joined all four trivia nights because it was a fun way to give back. It feels good to participate in something that supports a good cause while bonding virtually with fellow Security Bankers and scholars,” shares Aleli Rovera, Security Bank Zamboanga-Canelar branch service officer.
Security Bankers tested their knowledge of current events and trending topics on the first week; music, movies and TV shows on the second week; travel, food, and culture on the third week, and questions about Security Bank’s 70th anniversary on the fourth and final week.
The Foundation’s college scholars also offered song and dance numbers to entertain the players. “My trivia night performance was one of my most meaningful performances. This is my way of showing how thankful I am to the Foundation, and to the donors who generously share their time and resources despite the pandemic,” says Melissa Cotoner, a daughter of a Bank’s security guard and an RMKK college scholar.
Apart from the Trivia Nights, SBFI also raises funds for RMKK through other initiatives such as the Price is Right and Name That Tune virtual games and an online concert this fourth quarter of 2021. In addition, the Foundation also receives direct contributions of employees and clients through programs such as conversion of Security Bank Mastercard’s rewards to donation points.
