Security Bank received 10 awards at the Asian Banking & Finance’s Retail, Wholesale, and Corporate & Investment Banking Awards programs at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore on July 3, 2025, recognizing achievements in customer focus, digital innovation, sustainable finance, and financial inclusion.
Enabling Filipino SMEs
The Bank was awarded SME Bank of the Year in recognition of its commitment to supporting small businesses through its Business Banking Segment (BBS). Since launching in 2022, BBS has delivered comprehensive solutions for SMEs including loans, deposits, and cash management, and has formed strategic partnerships to offer HRIS, legal support, business intelligence, tax filing, business insurance, and digital payment services—all to help entrepreneurs run their businesses more efficiently. Further, BBS has streamlined loan approval and processing, enhancing service speed and efficiency for SME clients.
Making retail banking better
Security Bank’s Retail Banking Segment (RBS) received four awards for digital innovation, sustainable loans, and customer engagement, leading to improved user experience, transaction volumes, and loyalty. Highlights include: Mobile Banking & Payment Initiative of the Year for the all-new Security Bank app launched in August 2024; Credit Card Initiative of the Year for the BetterBanking Rewards program offering real-time points management; Consumer Finance Product of the Year for the VIP Lane for top Auto Loan Dealership and Broker referrers; and External Environmental Initiative of the Year for the Solar Mortgage financing program that allows clients to acquire solar panels through home loans at no upfront cost.
SB Finance, the Bank’s microfinance arm, received the Marketing & Brand Initiative of the Year award for its Tambike by MotorsikLOAN program, which offers affordable repossessed motorcycles through a series of sealed bidding events. The program gave individuals and small business owners the opportunity to acquire good-quality and pre-loved motorcycles at competitive prices.
Empowering corporate clients
The Bank’s Wholesale Banking Segment (WBS) was also lauded for initiatives in cash management and sustainable finance. In 2024, the Bank introduced promotions and platforms aimed at facilitating seamless, affordable, and secure transactions for businesses. These initiatives contributed to increases in deposits and transaction volumes, resulting in the Domestic Cash Management Bank of the Year award.
On sustainable finance, Security Bank was awarded Domestic Trade Finance Bank of the Year for its Supply Chain Finance solution, which addressed payment and performance risks at various touchpoints to ensure appropriately structured solutions. This resulted in an 83.6% increase in Supply Chain Finance volumes from 2022 to 2024.
Supporting national development
Security Bank Capital Investment Corporation (“Security Bank Capital”), the Bank’s wholly owned investment banking arm, received two awards for its involvement in landmark transactions. The firm was recognized for the Syndicated Loan of the Year award for its role as Mandated Lead Arranger in Barracuda Energy Corporation’s PHP18.2 billion syndicated loan, which supports a 550-megawatt solar power initiative in Bugallon, Pangasinan. This project is estimated to generate 958-gigawatt hours of clean energy yearly—enough to power over 810,000 households.
Furthermore, Security Bank Capital earned the Sustainability-Linked Bond of the Year recognition serving as Joint Lead Underwriter and Bookrunner for Ayala Land Inc.’s (ALI) PHP6 billion sustainability-linked bonds (SLB)—the first of its kind in both the Philippine capital markets and the real estate sector.
