Security Bank Foundation, Inc. (SBFI) recently donated funding for two ambulance units to the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) during a ceremony at the Security Bank Centre in Makati City. The check was awarded by Security Bank through SBFI Chairman Rafael Simpao, Security Bank President & CEO and SBFI Trustee Alfonso Salcedo, Jr., Security Bank Executive Vice President Takahiro Onishi and SBFI Corporate Secretary Melissa Aquino. The donation was formally accepted by PRC Chairman Senator Richard Gordon, PRC Secretary General Atty. Oscar Palabyab and PRC Assistant Secretary General Ramon Murillo.
The two ambulance units will be stationed at PRC’s M/V Amazing Grace, the country’s first and only humanitarian vessel. The ambulance units will be used as a rapid transport and landing vessel for emergency units, relief supply transport ship, hospital ship, medical facility deployment ship, sea rescue vessel, mass evacuation vessel, humanitarian logistics ship, mobile operations command post, and humanitarian education and training ship.
Security Bank Foundation began supporting PRC in 2015 as a testament to its commitment help save, protect and improve the quality of lives of Filipinos through the provision of life-saving services in times of medical emergencies and disasters. To date, SBFI has donated three ambulance units that have served a total of 731 patients.
