Soon you’ll find out that you don’t need as many Facebook breaks after all.

You know what it takes to get you “in the zone.” Maximize that knowledge. Be efficient in choosing which tasks to do first. If your brain activity peaks in the morning, start your day by addressing difficult problems. But if you can’t think straight out of bed, you can begin with accomplishing clerical tasks like replying to emails and calls. If music gets you going, prepare your work playlist during your morning commute. Do whatever it takes to make you work smarter.

Be professional and respectful to your colleagues at all times. Hone your communication skills by thinking before you speak and reviewing what you write. Don’t just say the first thing that comes to mind. Get to the point and be concise. You’ll save so much time when you don’t have to explain yourself repeatedly. Always keep your workspace tidy and practice proper grooming and hygiene.
