Supplemental Terms and Conditions

SUPPLEMENTAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR COMPLETE CASHBACK PLATINUM MASTERCARD

The Terms and Conditions set out below, supplement and are to be read together with, and form an integral part of, the Security Bank Mastercard Terms and Conditions, as may be amended from time to time by the Bank in its sole and absolute discretion. The Bank’s decision in its sole and absolute discretion on all matters pertaining to the card or use of any or all of the benefits and privileges stated below shall be final and binding on the cardholder. The benefits and privileges described below may be amended, supplemented or revoked by the Bank at any time in its sole and absolute discretion.

1. General

1.1 Complete Cashback Platinum Mastercard is excluded from the Security Bank Rewards Program. Any purchases and/or transactions made using Complete Cashback Platinum Mastercard are not entitled to any rewards points under the Security Bank Rewards Program.

1.2 Purchases and/or transactions made on the Complete Cashback Platinum Mastercard shall not be qualified for “Convert to ChargeLight.”

1.3 All Complete Cashback Platinum Mastercard cardholders will automatically be enrolled in an electronic statement of account (e-SOA) service and shall be bound by the statement of account via the e-mail service terms and conditions. Thus, the Complete Cashback Platinum Mastercard cardholder shall not be qualified to receive paper statements.

2. Participation

2.1 A cardholder whose card account is open, active, and remains in good credit standing as determined by Security Bank in its sole discretion is entitled to earn rebates.

2.2 If a principal cardholder’s card is terminated or canceled at any time for any reason, whether by the principal cardholder or by Security Bank, the principal cardholder and any supplementary cardholder/s shall no longer be eligible to earn rebates and all rebates accrued shall automatically be forfeited immediately after the voluntary or involuntary cancellation of the card.

2.3 Any remaining rebates, including rebates pending credit into the card account of the cardholder, shall immediately become invalid, and shall be forfeited, upon the occurrence of the following:

2.3.1 Cancellation of the card; or

2.3.2 Conversion of the card to any other Security Bank credit card; or

2.3.3 Delinquency of the card; or

2.3.4 Card ceases to be in good credit standing.

2.4 Uncredited or accrued rebates of a cardholder who has availed of debt restructuring, rewrite and other collection programs or arrangements for his/her card shall remain forfeited despite eventual repayment of his/her card.

2.5 Security Bank reserves the right to suspend or terminate the privileges or disqualify the cardholder from earning rebates if:

2.5.1 In its opinion, the cardholder or his/her supplementary cardholder/s has in any way breached these terms and conditions or the Security Bank Mastercard terms and conditions; or

2.5.2 In its opinion, the cardholder uses his/her card in a manner inconsistent with the object and intent of the rebate feature of the card.

3. Earning of rebates

3.1 A cardholder shall earn rebates, subject to the cap indicated in subsection 3.7 which will be credited to his/her card account at the following rates when he/she uses his/her Complete Cashback Platinum Mastercard in the specific merchant categories, provided that the card remains active, not canceled, not terminated, remain in good credit standing and is compliant with these terms and conditions.

3.2 Only local retail purchases and/or transactions are qualified. Purchases and/or transactions without charge slips such as but not limited to internet or online purchases, mail order/telephone order purchases, recurring payment transactions, cash advances made via ATM or over the counter, SimplyPay transactions, Balance Transfer transactions, Ready Cash transactions, payment of annual card membership, other fees and charges and interests shall not earn rebates.

3.3 All overseas and online purchases and/or transactions, even if charged in Philippine Pesos, shall not earn rebates.

3.4 Utilities enrolled in Security Bank Bills Assist Program are not eligible to earn rebates.

3.5 Purchases and/or transactions generated from casino and business transactions as well as from merchants specifically engaged in wholesale (ex. Warehouse clubs) and distribution (ex. Food supplement dealers, multi-level marketing) are not qualified to earn rebates even if they fall under the above-mentioned merchant categories.

3.6 Rebates including those earned from the supplementary card’s purchases and/or transactions shall be credited to the account of the principal cardholder.

3.7 Cumulative rebates awarded for both principal and supplementary cardholder/s are subject to a maximum of PHP 1,000 per monthly billing statement.

3.8 Rebates will be computed cumulatively across all local transactions in the above-mentioned merchant categories and shall be computed on a per transaction basis.

3.9 Rebates shall be computed on purchases and/or transactions posted from one (1) day after the statement date of the previous month to the statement date of the current month. Rebates shall be posted and reflected on the current month’s statement of account.

3.10 Rebates may only be used to settle purchases and/or transactions incurred on a principal cardholder’s account and/or his supplementary card if any.

3.11 Rebates may not be converted to or exchanged for cash and are not transferrable and cannot be paid to any person in any manner whatsoever or be used to settle or pay any other liability of any person whatsoever or be applied towards the settlement of any cardholder’s liabilities with the bank.

3.12 A cardholder shall be charged with the cost of the rebate should the cardholder cancel the qualifying purchase and/or transaction at a later date or if the purchase and/or transaction is found to be fraudulent or has been charged back.

3.13 Any errors, omissions, irregularities including but not limited to the computation of rebates, qualified transactions must be brought to the attention of Security Bank within thirty (30) days from the date of the statement of account otherwise the balance is shown on the statement of account and all entries, including errors, omissions, irregularities, will be deemed correct, complete, final and binding.

4. Merchant Categories

4.1 Merchant Category refers to the classification of each merchant establishment as determined by their acquiring banks based on the nature of the merchant’s business as prescribed by Mastercard. Below is a list of eligible merchant category codes:

4.2 In determining the eligibility of purchase and/or transaction or rate of rebate to be earned for a particular purchase and/or transaction, Security Bank shall be bound by the merchant category designation made by the acquiring bank as prescribed by Mastercard.

4.3 In the event of any inconsistency between the Merchant Category Code (MCC) under Section 4.1 above and the MCC used by the acquiring bank, the latter shall prevail.

5. Other Conditions:

5.1 Security Bank reserves the right at its sole and absolute discretion to vary, delete, amend, modify or add to any of these terms and conditions from time to time. These terms and conditions may be modified, amended, added, deleted or varied by Security Bank by way of posting on the Security Bank website, or in any manner deemed suitable by Security Bank. The cardholder agrees to access the Security Bank website regularly to view these terms and conditions. The cardholder agrees that his/her continued use of the card shall constitute his/her acceptance of these terms and conditions.

5.2 Security Bank shall have the right at its sole and absolute discretion and without prior notice to vary, modify or amend the features and benefits of the Complete Cashback Platinum Mastercard as stipulated in these terms and conditions, including but not limited to the eligibility, coverage, fulfillment, rebate rates to be awarded, the qualified merchant category, assignment of merchant category, coverage dates/periods and rebate to be awarded. Such modifications and amendments shall be effective on such dates or dates as shall be determined solely by Security Bank.

5.3 Fraud and abuse committed by the cardholder relating to the earning of rebates may result in forfeiture of rebates.

5.4 Security Bank is entitled, in its absolute discretion, at any time and from time to time and without notice and without giving any reason, to terminate the program, to take into account or disregard any purchases and/or transactions in the computation of the rebate or to otherwise vary the basis of computation of rebates as it relates to the qualifying period and/or rebate rate per merchant category. It is likewise entitled to terminate the awarding of the rebate or withdraw, cancel or invalidate any rebate already credited.

5.5 Rebate rates are subject to change and shall be reviewed periodically at Security Bank’s sole discretion from time to time.

5.6 Security Bank is entitled, for any reason and at any time, without liability or prior notice, to suspend the calculation, accrual, or crediting of the rebate, to address any errors in the calculation, or otherwise adjust such calculation.

5.7 Security Bank’s records and decision of all matters relating to Complete Cashback Platinum Mastercard shall be conclusive and binding on the cardholder.

5.8 All questions and disputes, in respect of but not limited to the cardholder’s eligibility, coverage of dates, fulfillment, etc., Security Bank’s decision shall prevail and shall be resolved at its sole discretion.

5.9 In the event of any conflict or discrepancy between the Security Bank Mastercard terms and conditions and these terms and conditions, the terms and conditions set herein shall prevail insofar as rebates are concerned.

1. What is the Complete Cashback Platinum Mastercard?

The Complete Cashback Platinum Mastercard is an upgrade of your existing Complete Cashback credit card. Apart from its new sleek design, you will still get the same cashback benefits plus added protection for your online purchases with FREE Online Purchase Protection.

2. What will happen to my existing Complete Cashback Mastercard?
The Complete Cashback Mastercard will be discontinued effective June 1, 2022, and will be replaced with its Platinum version.

3. Is there anything I need to do to claim my Complete Cashback Platinum Mastercard? 
You just need to wait for your new Complete Cashback Platinum Mastercard to be delivered to your registered mailing address by May 31, 2022.  Once received, immediately activate the new card and properly discard the old one.

To Activate your new Complete Cashback Platinum Mastercard, send an SMS to 2086 (for GLOBE and TM) and 4629 (for SMART and TNT) following this format:

4. What will happen to my supplementary cards?
All your supplementary cardholders will also receive their new card by May 31, 2022. The same monthly rebate cap and shared credit limit remain.

5. Where will my new card be delivered?
Your Complete Cashback Platinum Mastercard will be delivered to your registered billing address.

To ensure delivery of your new card, please call us at (02) 8887-9188 to update your billing address by May 13, 2022. Kindly disregard this note if the update has been made.

6. Will I have to pay a higher annual fee for my new Complete Cashback Platinum Mastercard?
Your annual fee will remain the same and will follow the same annual billing date of your existing card.

7. Will there be changes to my monthly cut-off date or billing cycle when I get my Complete Cashback Platinum Mastercard?
Your cut-off date and the billing cycle will remain the same.

8. What will happen to my credit limit, interest rate, installment transactions, and other account details when I get my new card?
Your credit limit, installment transactions, interest rates, statement of account, and notification arrangements will be carried over to your new card.

9. Can I keep using my Complete Cashback Mastercard instead?
If you haven’t received and activated your new Complete Cashback Platinum Mastercard, you can still use your existing Cashback Mastercard until May 31, 2022. Beyond that date, all old Complete Cashback Mastercard credit cards will be deactivated.

10. What if I do not want to upgrade my card to Complete Cashback Platinum Mastercard. Can I convert it to Rewards Mastercard or Next Mastercard instead?
If you wish to convert your existing Security Bank Mastercard, you may call our Customer Service Hotline at (02) 8887-9188, or through our PLDT Toll-Free* number at 1-800-1-888-1250.  The corresponding call charges for other carriers will apply.

11. What will happen to my subscriptions?
All existing enrollments under our Bills Assist Program will be carried over to your new card.  However, you will need to re-enroll any subscription or auto-debit arrangement/s done directly with other merchants such as your Gym Membership, Insurance Premium, Netflix, Spotify, etc.

12. When can I expect to receive the new Complete Cashback Platinum Mastercard?
Your new card will be delivered to your registered mailing address on or before May 31, 2022.

13. What happens if I receive my Complete Cashback Platinum Mastercard before May 31, 2022?
Once received, immediately activate the new card and properly discard the old one by punching a series of holes on its magnetic strip and chip.

15. Will I still get rebates for my latest transaction?
Yes, your rebates for your latest transaction shall be reflected in your next monthly statement of account for Complete Cashback Platinum Mastercard.

16. Do I still need to settle the balance in my latest Statement of Account?
Yes, you need to pay the amount due indicated in your latest SOA to avoid late payment charges.

17. How will I receive the Statement of Account for my new card?
You will receive your Statement of Account the same way you are receiving it for your existing Complete Cashback Mastercard.

Please note that the default statement delivery of Complete Cashback Mastercard and Complete Cashback Platinum Mastercard is through eSOA.

18. My account is past due, what will happen to my existing Complete Cashback Mastercard?

Only accounts that are active, current, and in good credit standing will be upgraded to Complete Cashback Platinum Mastercard. If you have overdue balances, please settle your account immediately.  To qualify for the upgrade, all payments must be posted by May 16, 2022. View the list of payment centers here.

Please note that even if the Complete Cashback Mastercard will be discontinued effective June 1, 2022, any unsettled balance will remain due to the cardholder.
