Vicki Belo’s better banking choices have helped expand her beauty brand to a full-fledged retail empire and secure a prosperous future for her new family.

Vicki Belo has decided to take it slow. Not business-wise, though, as her medical empire is only getting started. After dominating the Philippine cosmetic dermatology industry for nearly two decades, it has branched into affordable personal care and skin products, and just recently, launched a skin care line dedicated for babies. This year, Belo Medical Group gears up for its first foray into the international scene.

In her personal life, it’s time for a change of pace. The beauty expert—a soft-spoken, gentle woman when not in business mode—has been spending more leisurely afternoons out of the clinic. She’s been enjoying the luxury of museum-hopping across the world, spending quality time with her one-year-old, and getting lost in the comforting solace of a spiritual read. It’s not retirement. Consider it the well-deserved reward of a woman who has spent most of her life in an illustrious yet challenging medical career. She has done life-changing work, helping people look and feel beautiful.

“Successful” might seem lacking as a description of Vicki Belo’s numerous achievements but it’s not like her to take all the credit. She stresses that while she lends her name to the brand, Belo is a medical institution composed of and run by a group of professionals. And, as far as her financial gains are concerned, she credits her banking advisers for making good decisions. They make sure she invests her money properly, spends it wisely, and secures earnings the best way she can. Vicki Belo has been a Security Bank client for 14 years now, and the relationship she has with the bank has been nothing short of familial. “Despite being one of the top banks, Security Bank still possesses a good working relationship with its clients. They’re currently the fourth biggest bank—I think that’s a good number. I’ve worked with the top two biggest banks, but there’s just no relationship [between bank and client]—here, it’s just right,” she says.

It’s this kind of relationship that has always brought assurance to Vicki that her hard-earned money will always be secure. And it’s probably the reason why—as the power woman is enjoying the luxuries of life—that one can safely say that Dr. Belo is still at the top of her game.
