Security Bank Foundation turned over various school supplies for the Alternative Learning System (ALS) Program of the Department of Education for the inmates of the National Bureau of Corrections in New Bilibid Prison. The simple turnover ceremony was held last May 13, 2015 at the Security Bank Makati Head Office.
Undersecretary Mario Deriquito of the Department of Education received the donation of various school supplies for the New Bilibid Prison inmates taking ALS classes from Security Bank Foundation Chairman Rafael F. Simpao, Jr.
DepEd’s ALS Program in the Bureau of Corrections-National Bilibid Prison aims to provide over 5,000 prison inmates with the opportunity to pursue Basic Literacy and Numeracy, and Technical and Vocational Courses, as part of their Rehabilitation and Reformation Programs.
The Foundation’s donation of school supplies to the ALS Program of the Department of Education re-affirms its commitment to help alleviate poverty and social marginalization through education.
