Security Bank Foundation inaugurated and formally turned over a 2 storey, 4 classrooms school building to Tipolo National High School in Mandaue City last December 10, 2014.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony was led by Hon. Mayor Jonas Cortes, DepEd Division of Mandaue City Superintendent Virginia C. Zapanta, Ateneo Center for Educational Development (ACED) Exdcutive Director Carmela Oracion and SBFI Chairman Rafael Simpao, Jr.
Also present during the event were SBFI Program Manager Mel Vigo-Cordova and Security Bank Area Head for Central Visayas Terry Sy together with the business managers of Security Bank branches in Cebu. Members of the different units of the City Government of Mandaue, DepEd Division Office, and the teachers and students were also present to witness the formal turnover of the school building to Tipolo National High School.
The donation of four classrooms to Tipolo National High School is the second batch of classrooms donated by Security Bank Foundation. With the donation of twelve (12) classrooms in Mandaue City last November 2013, the Foundation has donated a total of sixteen (16) classrooms for three (3) public schools in Mandaue City alone.
Since 2011, Security Bank Foundation has supported the construction of one hundred ninety-nine (199) classrooms for fifty-two (52) public school beneficiaries in twenty-five (25) cities and municipalities nationwide. One hundred thirty-three (133) of these classrooms were already formally turned over to nineteen (19) public schools in different communities where Security Bank has a presence, with the remaining sixty-six (66) classrooms expected to be completed and turned over by second quarter of 2015.
