Security Bank Foundation’s 6-year old “Resource Mobilization Campaign for Public School Students” generated donations of 642 school bags with complete school supplies from individual and group donors from among Security Bank employees, and was matched by the Foundation with a donation of another 2,358 school bags with complete school supplies.
A total of 1,000 school bags with complete school supplies were donated to JC De Jesus Elementary School in Tondo, Manila. Another 2,000 school bags with complete school supplies were donated to San Jose Central School in Tacloban City, Leyte. These school bags were lovingly assembled and packed by thirty-five (35) employees from Security Bank, SB Equities and Security Bank Savings. Employees from Security Bank Tacloban branch together with the teachers of San Jose Central School, on the other hand, helped assembled and packed the school bags for the Tacloban children.
In addition, over 700 slightly used educational materials were generated from among Security Bank employees and clients, and donated to the library of JC De Jesus Elementary School in Tondo, Manila. Old books for grown-ups and old glossy magazines received by the Foundation, on the other hand, were turned over to the Literacy and Livelihood Development Programs of Correctional Institution of Women in Mandaluyong City.
With the donation of new school bags and school supplies, the Foundation and the Bank employees helped inspired 3,000 needy public school children in Tondo and Tacloban to go to school with hope for School Year 2014-2015.
