Security Bank Corporation (SBC) reaps another victory as it bagged the prestigious “Cesar EA Virata Award” as the 2010 Best Securities House for the 6th consecutive year by the Philippine Dealing System (PDS) Group which operates the country’s electronic trading platform for fixed income securities. The awarding was held recently at the Makati Shangri-la Hotel.

Security Bank continued its winning streak in four other categories as Top Fixed-Income Securities Broker, Top Fixed-Income Securities Dealing Participant, Top Fixed Income Cash Settlement Bank and Top 5 Foreign Exchange Dealer.

Security Bank Executive Vice President and Treasurer Rafael S. Algarra, Jr., remarked upon receiving the award, “it is a great honor to receive this award from the PDS Group. 2010 has been a banner year for SBC as well as for the Philippine banking industry which had a very profitable year. One of the primary objectives of our bank is to help move forward and develop the Philippine Capital market through active participation in the full spectrum of whatever the market has to offer.  This award tells us that our humble effort is appreciated.”

Security Bank Corporation continues to make a mark with record earnings as it reported last month an unaudited net income of PhP 7.2 billion for the full year 2010. The outstanding performance was 134% higher than full year 2009 and resulted in an industry high return on equity (ROE) of 35%.

This recent award as 2010 Best Securities House comes in the heels of another recognition given by Asiamoney to Security Bank as the Best Managed Company in the Philippines – Small Cap Corporate of the Year.  The Best Managed Company Awards are given by Asiamoney to the top small, medium and large cap companies in major countries across Asia where companies are measured against a list of criteria including profitability, market leadership and innovation.

These achievements underscore Security Bank’s corporate leadership in the Philippine banking industry.
