Security Bank Foundation, Inc. (SB Foundation), the social development arm of the Security Bank Corporation, recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Pampamilyang Paaralang Agrikultura, Inc. (PPAI), the governing body of the Family Farm School system in the
Philippines.
SB Foundation Chairman Rafael F. Simpao, Jr. represented the Board of Trustees in the signing ceremony where he also handed to PPAI president Jose O. Rivera a check in the amount of One Hundred Thousand Peso representing SB Foundation’s donation to the Dagatan Family Farm School (DFFS) in Lipa City, Batangas. The donation will finance DFFS’ Program to teach and develop the skills of its students in lettuce
farming.
The project also aims to provide a means for the school’s alumni and family associations to engage in an income-generating livelihood venture. It also supports the development of a self-contained farming community within the 30-kilometer radius of DFFS that will help sustain the school’s viability. After the signing ceremony, groundbreaking rites were done at the school’s property to formally start the project. The Lettuce Farm Project is expected to yield its first lettuce harvest, by the third week of
May.
Official signatories were S B Foundation’s Chairman Rafael F. Simpao, Jr. and S B Foundation Projects and Evaluation Chairperson and TCMD Head Dulce Y. Edillor while DFFS President Jun Aristorenas, and PPAI president Jose O. Rivera represented the
beneficiaries.
Other Security Bank officers present during the ceremonies were Area Business Manager for South Luzon Angel Muyot, Lipa City Branch Business Manager Marilou Palaroan and Reynald Ryan D. Barrion of
TCMD.
