Security Bank Foundation Receives
First Lettuce Harvest of Livelihood Project in Lipa City


Security Bank Foundation, Inc. (SBFI), the social development arm of the Security Bank Corporation, recently received the first produce of Dagatan Family Farm School’s (DFFS) Lettuce Production Project in Lipa City, Batangas. 

SBFI Chairman Rafael F. Simpao, Jr. and President Anastasia Y. Dy lead the Foundation’s Board of Trustees and officers in welcoming DFFS Project Development Officer Arnel Magsino and Marketing Officer Randy Pesa who handed the first ten kilos of lettuce harvested from the project that started last March through SBFI’s Memorandum of Agreement with Pampamilyang Paaralang Agrikultura, Inc. (PPAI), the governing body of the Family Farm School system in the Philippines.

The lettuce production project provides a means for the school’s alumni and family associations to engage in an income-generating livelihood venture. It also supports the development of a self-contained farming community within the 30-kilometer radius of DFFS that will help sustain the school’s viability. 

Other Board of Trustees and officers present were SBFI”s Corporate Secretary Melissa R. Aquino, SBFI Trustee and Security Bank President Alberto S. Villarosa, SBFI Scholarship Chairperson and HRDD Head Evylene C. Sison, SBFI Projects and Evaluation Chairperson and TCMD Head Dulce Y. Edillor and SBFI Project Coordinator and Training Officer Reynald Ryan D. Barrion.
