Security Bank Foundation, Inc. (SB Foundation), the social development arm of the Security Bank Corporation, recently released its fifth medical scholarship grant to the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Santo
Tomas.
SBFI Chairman Rafael F. Simpao, Jr. represented the Board of Trustees in the turnover of a check donation of One Hundred Thousand Pesos to UST Faculty of Medicine and Surgery Dean Dr. Rolando Lopez during the Faculty’s Tribute to its graduating scholars for school year 2004-2005. Among those honored during the ceremony was SB Foundation’s graduating scholar (with honors) Charles Villamin who later gave a testimonial recounting his challenging experiences through medical school. He also extended his gratitude to all those who have provided educational assistance to him, most specially the SB Foundation. After the scholars’ testimonial, Mr. Simpao was called on stage to speak in behalf of SB Foundation. In his talk, Mr. Simpao reiterated that Security Bank is committed to support and assist educational and livelihood programs geared towards the social and economic amelioration of the less privileged in the communities that the Bank
serves.
Security Bank Officers present during the ceremonies were SB Foundation Projects and Evaluation Chairperson and TCMD Head Dulce Y. Edillor, Area Business Manager for North Metro Manila 1, Carmelita Wijangco, UST Branch Business Manager Helen Mejia, Human Resource Development Division Recruitment Head, Ma. Victoria Dimayuga, and Reynald Ryan D. Barrion of TCMD.
